Hi there! Welcome to the blog, a journal of some of my favourite sessions, my travels, and my favourite things. Stay a while and say hello!

hi, Im maureen

Ellie and David’s Korean Pyebaek Tea Ceremony in Singapore

Oct 19, 2020

It has been one year since this incredible weekend in Singapore. Ellie and I have been sister-friends since we met at a pub crawl back in 2010. When she moved back to Singapore after university I wasn’t sure how our relationship was going to change, but a decade later we are closer than ever. Our nights of staying out late, getting pancakes at 2 in the morning, and eating Cheetos until we felt sick have turned into video chats with countless filters that go on for hours, even with our 12 hour time difference.

I was on a weekend trip in New York, when Ellie called me with the news that she was engaged. I didn’t tell her because I didn’t want to sound too sappy, but I cried when we hung up. David is such a fun, caring man and I knew that he could handle my spicy spicy friend. I was so excited and felt so blessed and grateful that we stayed so close despite our distance. Growing older your friends and seeing them experience milestones in life is such a gift and we should never take it for granted.

Photographing their Korean Pyebaek ceremony is a highlight in my life and will be a day I never forget.
